Wayne Schmidt

Dr. Wayne Schmidt has served as the General Superintendent of The Wesleyan Church since 2016. Previously, Wayne led Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University (2010-2016) from its infancy to a multiethnic student body of over 500 from 11 countries, offering accredited degrees in English and Spanish. From 1979-2009, Wayne co-founded and then served as senior pastor of Kentwood Community Church (KCC) in the Grand Rapids, Michigan, area. KCC transitioned to a multiethnic church and participated in launching 10 other congregations.
